Water over House Rock and dangerous log jam

As of 9 a.m. river flows on the Gallain River topped 6,760 cubic feet per second – pushing water up and over the ‘Mad Mile’s’ House Rock.

Overnight, log debris dispersed downriver and for the second time in a month, lodged between the riverbank and House – making the usual route for rafters and kayakers impassable.

As the Gallatin reaches toward record levels and the lure of big water awaits boaters, caution is recommended. No word if efforts will be made to clear the debris – stay tuned for updates.
