Agnes Denes’ art display, titled “Wheatfield—An Inspiration. The seed is in the ground.” will be shown at Tinworks Art from June 15 through Oct. 19 this year.
Denes’ piece will be a multi-faceted installation on Tinworks’ site in Bozeman. Denes’ most influential work thus far is called “Wheatfield–A Confrontation,” “in which Denes planted a two-acre field of wheat in prime New York real estate in Lower Manhattan,” the release stated.
“Since the 1960s, she has participated in more than 700 exhibitions at museums, galleries, and art spaces worldwide,” the release stated about Denes.
The Bozeman installation will have multiple interactive elements that audiences can respond to and even spread the art’s message around town. The land was previously set for development and is now being used for ecologically inspired artwork, starting with Denes’ piece which incorporates native southwestern Montana wheat.
