BIG SKY – Snow and low hanging clouds created visibility challenges throughout the day on April 5, but intermittent sun made the Subaru Freeride Series four-star finals possible on The Headwaters’ steep face at Big Sky Resort.
Riders competed in the SFS – a Freeride World Tour Qualifier – for points in hopes they would have enough to gain a spot on the 2015 FWT.
At the end of the day, Squaw Valley locals Iris Lazareschi and Andrew Irwin both took top honors in snowboarding. In women’s and men’s skiing, respectively, 2014 Freeride World Tour rider Francesca Pavillard-Cain of Crested Butte, Colo. and Forrest Jillison of Jackson Hole, Wyo. landed in the top podium positions.
