Powder Day

While most of the country has stored their winter gear away and have started their preparations for the summer season, Big Sky is one of the few ski resorts who have remained open through the month of April. Good thing, too. A storm hit overnight on the 19th and blanketed Southwest Montana with over a foot of snow. There is more on the way, giving locals a sweet excuse to call in sick for the day.

The lift lines were long on this rogue Tuesday, but there were plenty of fresh tracks for everyone. Skiers and snowboarders from Jackson, Idaho and other Montana areas flocked to the powder due to the resort generously extending late season discounts for those riders who held season passes at their now closed local areas.

From all of us who live to ride, a big thank you to Big Sky and Moonlight Basin for extending their seasons and allowing us to take advantage of these great spring conditions.
