BOZEMAN — Heidi Browning, the chief marketing officer of the National Hockey League, will speak at Montana State University at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. The Montana native will present “From Montana to the NHL: A Journey of Innovation, Evolution and Leadership” in Strand Union Building’s Ballroom A.
Browning’s appearance is presented by the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship as part of the Orser Executive Speakers Forum. The talk is free and open to the public.
Browning will share her perspective from her upbringing in Montana to leading a major sports league’s marketing efforts. She will also dive into the transformative impact of digital marketing, social media, data analytics and active listening as a brand. She has been recognized as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Sports” by Ad Week, “Top 100 People of Power and Influence” by Hockey News, Notable Woman in Sports by Crains, a Game Changer by Sports Business Journal and one of the World’s Most Influential CMOs by Forbes.
Prior to joining the NHL, Browning served as senior vice president of Strategic Solutions at Pandora and senior vice president of client solutions for Fox Interactive Media/MySpace. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
The David B. Orser Executive Speakers Forum is a continuing component of a program launched in 1988 by Orser, a 1966 MSU graduate and retired business executive. It aims to bring leaders to the college to inspire students to pursue careers as innovative, responsible and ethical business leaders.
