The Museum of the Rockies at Montana State University will host a photography exhibition, “Conserving America’s Wildlands: The Vision of Ted Turner,” from Jan. 26 to April 21.The exhibition features the work of Emmy award-winning filmmaker and photographer Rhett Turner, whose book, “Conserving America’s Wildlands: The Vision of Ted Turner,” captures his famed father’s conservation journey. The exhibition will bring to life the pages of the book through a display of color prints.
Turner’s father, media magnate Ted Turner, has been a longtime supporter of sustainable land stewardship, preserving 23 family properties encompassing over 2 million acres from the Rocky Mountains and Dakota prairies to the foothills and coastal plains of the Southeast.
Rhett Turner’s lens documents the landscapes and wildlife within these preserved regions, aiming to show how his father’s vision combines conservation with economic viability. The exhibition gives visitors an experience of the heart of America’s preserved wilderness.
On Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m., museum members are invited to join Rhett Turner for a special preview of his exhibition featuring a book signing, slide presentation and Q&A session. The exhibition is included with general admission or membership and is sponsored by the Michael G. Nast Foundation, Storm Castle Foundation, and Don and Diane Beeman.
