The Associated Students of Montana State University are partnering with the Bridger Ski Foundation, Bridger Bowl and Rockstar Energy to host the third annual MSU Campus Rail Jam. The event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at a new location – the Dobbie Lambert Turf Complex north of West Lincoln Street and east of South 19th Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.
“This is a slopestyle event,” said Chris Pruden, leadership and engagement program manager for the Office of Student Engagement. “Think about a miniature version of a terrain park at a ski hill on campus.”
The competition is open to the MSU and Bozeman communities. Competitors are chosen based on submitted videos demonstrating athletes’ abilities to navigate a course.
This year, the event will feature activities and attractions, including a T-shirt craft station sponsored by the MSU Bookstore, beverage giveaways by Rockstar Energy, raffles, food trucks and presentations by student organizations.
“This is a fully local event,” said Pruden. “We are using the expertise and enthusiasm from our community partners like Bridger Bowl and the Bridger Ski Foundation.”
Other sponsors include World Boards, Stronghold Fabrication, the MSU Residence Hall Association and Stio.
MSU students and community members can register to compete by visiting the 2024 rail jam application form.
