Montana homeless programs receive $300,000 in grants

WASHINGTON – U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan in early March awarded $308,201 to support five new local homeless programs in Montana. This funding provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent support for individuals and families and is part of the Obama Administration’s plan to prevent and end homelessness.

The funding will help fund shelters in Bozeman, Missoula, Ronan, Helena and Billings. It’s part of $15.7 million in HUD grants that will go toward supporting 103 new housing and service programs in rural communities.
