The Moonlight Community Foundation recently granted $369,700 to 20 initiatives and organizations in the Big Sky community, focusing primarily on youth education, conservation initiatives, and other underserved community needs.
A Nov. 11 MCF press release stated that the funding underscores MCF’s vision to bridge the Moonlight Basin community to causes that matter, and make a lasting impact on the community. The grants focused on ensuring residents, especially youth, have access to resources.
“This funding not only represents our commitment to supporting essential local initiatives but also highlights the collaborative spirit of our community,” Anna Shipley, MCF executive director, stated in the release. “We believe that by investing in these organizations, we are investing in a brighter future for our youth and a healthier, more sustainable community.”
The following organizations received grants for their specific programs: Alpenscapes, Be Well Big Sky, Bienvenidos a Gallatin Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country, Big Sky Community Food Bank, Big Sky Community Housing Trust, Big Sky Community Organization, Big Sky Rotary Foundation, Big Sky School Parent Teacher Organization, Big Sky Sustainability Network Organization (SNO), Cancer Support Community Montana, Eagle Mount, Gallatin River Task Force, Greater Gallatin United Way, Grow Wild, Lone Peak High School Athletics, MT64 Hockey Association, Inc., Warren Miller Performing Arts Center, Wellness in Action and World Language Initiative MT.
This funding will support a diverse range of programs, from after-school mentorship and wellness initiatives to conservation efforts and cultural programming, according to the release.
