Long time local Big Sky business, the Hungry Moose Market and Deli, opened a second space on the mountain on July 26.
After a three-month demolition and renovation, the approximately 2,000-square-foot space in the Mountain Mall at the base of Big Sky Resort is completely remodeled.
Owners Mark and Jackie Robin have already hired six part-time new employees, Jackie said, and they are accepting applications and interviewing for additional deli staff.
“The feedback has been great,” she said, noting that the store has been busy with mountain and Moonlight Basin area homeowners taking advantage of the convenience offered by a local market.
The best selling item, she said, “might be all drinks including bottled water and beer… [There has] been a run on s’more supplies, also ice cream, lunch meats and a decent amount of wine. As one of our staff members said when I asked him, ‘everything!’”
The Hungry Moose has been in business in Big Sky since 1994 and at its original location in the Town Center since 2005. The mountain store will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. – EW
