Grizzly Outfitters & Backcountry Sports, which celebrated its 20th anniversary on May 1, recently opened a second location, “On the River.” This spot has seen various outdoor retailers since 1986, according to co-owner Andrew Schreiner, and was most recently occupied by East Slope Outdoors until it moved to Town Center last winter.
Grizzly On the River opened on April 18, and carries packs, clothing, sunglasses and fishing supplies, both for purchase and rent, while offering guided fly-fishing trips. In winter, the shop will rent skis and offer new and discounted ski apparel.
“We’re creating new customers,” said Schreiner, pictured here with manager Kelly Stephenson. “This [location] has [Yellowstone National Park] traffic and is the only fishing shop in Big Sky where you can see the Gallatin River and what it’s doing.”
