The presence of a grizzly bear located approximately 3.8 miles up Doe Creek Road outside of Big Sky, Montana is creating additional public safety concerns for people visiting this area.
The bear is feeding on a carcass located down a side road off of Doe Creek Road. People in this area should take all necessary safety precautions.
Traveling in groups of three or more, having bear spray readily accessible, and making noise to announce your presence will help reduce the chances of a negative encounter, said Marna Daley, Gallatin Forest Public Affairs Officer.
“There are no closures in affect, however the Forest Service has advised people to avoid this area.
