Clocking in at a whopping 3.6 ounces, the Houdini ($125) is a secret weapon. Packing into its own tiny pocket, I never know it’s there… until I want it. This thing is a breathable, water resistant, wind resistant ninja. Plus, it’s mosquito proof (i.e. take it to the Beartooths in summer). Be gentle though—the ultra-light fabric isn’t meant for bushwhacking or nasty chimney climbing and tears if abused.
