On Monday, March 17, Gallatin County will give a public presentation about the Hidden Creek development, an affordable housing project slated to provide income-restricted housing in Bozeman.
The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. in room 300 of the Gallatin County Courthouse, and will include updates on the formal subdivision process and site plans, as well as opportunities for public comment and questions, according to a March 10 Gallatin County press release. The meeting will also be streamed online.
The permanently deed-restricted neighborhood will be located on vacant land north of the Gallatin County Rest Home on Durston Road in Bozeman.
Hidden Creek will include 182 apartments operated under the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program, eight equity-restricted rowhomes for sale under a community land trust, and an infrastructure-ready parcel for future use, to remain under county ownership.
Efforts to develop the neighborhood began in 2021, with $2 million in funding secured from the City of Bozeman and $500,000 from Gallatin County under the American Rescue Plan Act. It is being planned in partnership between Gallatin County, United Housing Partners, and the Human Resource Development Council.

“Community members are encouraged to attend in person or online to share their thoughts and learn more about this transformative initiative,” the release stated.
