Gallatin County has been awarded federal funding through the Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods program to complete a feasibility study for the Manhattan Trail System.
This study will explore the potential to build an eight-mile separated bicycle and pedestrian path connecting the rural communities of Manhattan, Logan and Three Forks.
The goal of this study is to identify a safe, accessible route for non-motorized travel, develop a preliminary engineering plan and cost estimate, and engage the public and stakeholders to help shape the project’s vision and alignment. Key considerations include proximity to schools, parks and commercial areas to ensure the trail serves community needs.
The public is invited to learn more about the project at an open house on Thursday, May 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 406 Brewing in Manhattan. Attendees will have the opportunity to view maps, explore project boards and hear brief presentations about the study.
