Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will hold two informal public meetings in late-June and mid-July to discuss hunting in the Gallatin and Bridger Mountain Ranges.
FWP Madison-Gallatin biologist Julie Cunningham would like to hear from sportsmen and women who hunt in Hunting Districts 309, 310, and 312, generally in the Gallatins and Bridgers.
“My goal is to check in with hunters in these areas prior to the formal December-January season setting process for the 2012-13 biennium,” said Cunningham.
Some issues Cunningham would like to discuss and get feedback on include:
● Bridger Mountains Hunting Districts 309 and 312—weapons restriction area boundary, elk and white-tailed deer population numbers, mule deer, and the potential for bighorn sheep reintroduction
● Gallatin Mountains Hunting District 310—elk population numbers, wolf hunting, moose in the Taylor Fork
The Bridgers meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Bozeman at the Springhill Community Church (9855 Walker Road).
The Gallatins meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Big Sky at Buck’s T-4 in the Montana Room (46625 Gallatin Rd.).
