The talk will be held at the Museum of the Rockies’ Hager Auditorium and will kick off the Winter/Spring 2024 Science Inquiry Series which “explores cutting edge science topics, their latest developments, and their relevance to society,” according to a Dec. 19 release from Gallatin Valley Friends of the Sciences.
All of the presentations are free and open to the public.
“In her presentation, titled ‘The Great American Eclipse: A Local and National Preview,’ Des Jardins will share the particulars of the total solar eclipse visible along a path from Texas through Maine, and the partial eclipse visible from Montana (if viewed with special eye protection),” the release stated. She will also describe a project by college students to capture the lunar shadow for a NASA broadcast.
A question and answer session will follow the talk.
The talk is sponsored by the Gallatin Valley Friends of the Sciences, co-sponsored by the non-profit service organization Hopa Mountain andhosted by the Museum of the Rockies.
