The Bozeman Symphony will present “Brahms Symphony No. 1” on March 23 and 24. The concert will also debut the symphony’s composer-in-residence, Scott Lee’s final commission, “Inner Life.”
Music Director Norman Huynh will lead “Symphony No. 1” by Johannes Brahm, known to be a masterpiece of the symphonic repertoire, according to a release from the Bozeman Symphony. “‘Brahms Symphony No. 1’ presents a well-crafted musical structure, highlighting the virtuosity of the orchestra, powerful melodies, and rich harmonies to create an unforgettable musical experience,” the release stated.
The symphony will then play Scott Lee’s “Inner Life,” a work with three movements. “The piece’s three movements flow uninterrupted from one into the next, with the music and rhythms representing the inner thoughts and process of discovery as the composer makes the journey from chaos to synthesis and closure,” the release stated.
There will be two performances: one on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. and another on Sunday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m.
