The 2024 general election will be held on Nov. 5 and while many have voted since early voting opened on Oct. 11, in-person voting is available now through Tuesday with election day at the polls quickly approaching. Explore Big Sky put together some important details for how and when to vote in Big Sky.
Montana does not have a registration deadline for voting. Voters can register the day of at an election site as long as they provide a valid ID. A valid ID can be a valid driver’s license, MT state identification card, military ID, Tribal photo ID, U.S. passport and a MT concealed carry permit. Voters can submit other forms of identification, including a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or government check, notice of confirmation of voter registration or a government document.

Absentee ballots are advised to be brought to a polling station if it has not yet been mailed to ensure your ballot counts.
There are multiple polling offices in Big Sky and the surrounding areas. In Gallatin County, voters can cast their vote or bring in an absentee ballot at:
- Gallatin Gateway Community Center at 145 Mill St from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Big Sky Water/Sewer office at 561 Little Coyote Rd from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Povah Community Center at 10 Geyser St West Yellowstone from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voting offices in Madison County:
- Big Sky Fire Station 2 from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Big Sky HD69 Precinct 24 at 9091 Lone Mountain Trail from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Ennis Town Hall at 328 W Main St from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
