Teams and players can now register online for the summer Big Sky Co-ed Softball League.
The league’s 24th season will begin on May 28, earlier than usual to squeeze in an abridged season before the Big Sky Community Organization begins construction at the Big Sky Community Park in early August—the east softball field and the adjacent soccer fields will be converted into artificial turf, multi-use fields. That phase of park improvements is estimated for completion in July 2025, according to a follow up email from BSCO.
The end of season tournament is scheduled for Aug. 3-4, about three weeks earlier than in typical years. As usual, games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6 and 7:15 p.m. This year, games postponed due to weather will primarily be rescheduled for Thursdays.
League registration can also be found by visiting base.bsco.org and selecting “athletic leagues.” Team fees are $700 per team, and the league will be capped at 14 teams. Individual player fees are $15 each. Team rosters are due before the first game is played, but players may be added through July 5.
Interest players without a team can email Steven Reid, BSCO recreation coordinator, who will help place “free agents” on a team.
