Ski area outlines potential for additional lifts, night skiing, increased terrain, lodge and parking expansion

Bridger Bowl Ski Area is hosting two open house events for passholders and the public to learn more about the ski area’s 10-year Master Development Plan. Members and passholders are invited on Feb. 27 from 4-6 p.m. at Saddle Peak Lodge on the fourth floor, and the public is invited March 1 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Bridger Bowl’s last MDP was accepted by the Custer Gallatin National Forest 2005, and since then the area has seen an increase in use alongside the growth of Gallatin Valley. As Bridger updates this plan they hope that skiers, riders and lovers of the community ski area will provide their input. Updating the MDP is required by Bridger’s Special Use Permit with the Forest Service. The existing MDP can be found online.
According to a Feb. 19 email sent to passholders, updates to the plan include potential for one new beginner lift, two new intermediate and advanced lifts, one new ski patrol lift and 70 acres of new, skiable terrain. It also includes lodge expansions, night skiing and increased parking.
“The next phase of development at Bridger Bowl aims to adapt to the community’s needs while maintaining Bridger Bowl’s local, authentic character,” the email explained.
