Good news came in the search for Brad Gardner today.
His father, Ed, who’s made his own search and rescue mission with one of his son’s friends, confirmed Friday afternoon that what may be one of his son’s ski poles was spotted this week.
Ed said his son switched poles around Christmas with his brother, John, without realizing the mixup. He said the pole was found on a cliff in a cirque on Lone Mountain two days ago and that it was confirmed today the pole could have been his son’s.
Ed moved here after his son disappeared in March. He will return to the area in which the pole was found on Monday.
Madison and Gallatin County Search and Rescue teams, meanwhile, are conducting an official search. The groups are involved after waiting for a mammoth snowpack to melt off the mountain.
“We intend to continue the search until Brad is found. We will not give up in order to bring closure to the family,” Gallatin County Sheriff Jim Cashell said last week.
