The Bozeman Police Department is investigating an attempted homicide that happened over the weekend in downtown Bozeman. Both the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and KBZK reported that the attempted homicide involved two stabbings. In a Feb. 14 Facebook post, BPD clarified that suspects were located at a residence at Bogert Place and Story Street but the incident did not occur there.
As of Wednesday morning, all roads around the incident are back open.
Over 12 individuals were detained as Bozeman PD and Gallatin County Special Response Team responded to southeastern Bozeman to locate persons of interest, according to the post.
On the morning of Feb. 14, Longfellow Elementary School was placed in a shelter-in-place in abundance of caution while the response occurred, according to the post. No threat was made to the school or students.
“Our detective division and supporting personnel will continue to be on scene for some time, continuing to investigate this incident. Story Street between Black [Avenue] and Bozeman [Avenue] is temporarily closed. Please stay away from the area so they can do this important work,” BPD stated in their post.
