On Monday, Sept. 23, Bozeman Mayor Terry Cunningham will host two presentations to discuss the state of affordable housing in Bozeman, and how city officials are responding to housing related issues.
Both presentations will be the same, first at noon at the Ellen Theatre, and second at 6 p.m. at Gallatin High School. The talks are open to the public, who are encouraged to listen and ask questions during the Q&A to follow, according to a Sept. 3 press release from the City of Bozeman.
Officials hope the event will educate citizens and spark involvement with efforts like Bozeman’s Unified Development Code and its Affordable Housing Ordinance.
“Housing is a frequent topic of discussion at our weekly Commission meetings, but the average citizen may not be tuned into everything we’re working on, and we’d like to provide a ‘snapshot in time’ on the subject of affordable housing,” Cunningham stated in the release.
“The presentation will focus on the challenges, successes and opportunities associated with affordable housing. It is one of the central reasons why people struggle to live and stay in Bozeman.”
