On Sept. 10 at 11 a.m., Bozeman Fire will cut the ribbon on a new fire station on the Montana State University campus. The new location for Bozeman Fire Station 2 at 575 W Kagy Blvd. aims to manage safety for an expanding community, according to a Sept. 5 press release from the City of Bozeman.
“We are excited to bring Fire Station 2 to this new, strategic location,”Bozeman Fire Chief Josh Waldo stated in the release. “Our partnership with MSU exemplifies our shared commitment to public safety, both on and off campus. This move enhances our ability to respond swiftly and ensures we’re positioned to meet the safety needs of Bozeman’s expanding community.”
Bozeman Fire Station 2 is near MSU Police and will have a Bozeman Police substation to support patrol officers in the area. A 2017 city-commissioned study recommended the relocation of the second station, as well as a master plan for station relocations and suggestions for a fourth station, according to the release.
Josh Waldo, Bozeman Mayor Terry Cunningham, and MSU President Waded Cruzado will offer remarks at the ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by an opportunity to tour the new space.
