Big Sky is open with 2,912 acres, and a 35-52 inch base. That’s the most acreage open, the biggest variety of terrain, and the best base depths in the country.
Its friends to the west, Tahoe and Northstar have an 18 inch base with a little less than 200 acres open each. To the south, Vail has 1,500 acres with an 18 inch base, and Breckenridge has 1,059 acres open a 29 inch base.
Because of this Big Sky is doing something “amazingly awesome” for January, says Chad Jones, the resort’s PR director. “We are offering FREE SKIING to anyone that has a 2011-2012 Epic Pass, the pass that provides access to several Colorado and California Resorts.”
The details:
Epic passholders will get free skiing in January, when they book at rack rate with Big Sky Central Reservations. Big Sky is also extending the ‘bring a buddy’ coupon to Epic Pass holders, meaning that friends in the reservation without epic passes ski at a discounted rate. Free skiing available from check-in to check-out date.
