In the first large public meeting since the Big Sky Governance Study kickoff in late September, leaders will share the study’s Executive Summary of Current Conditions on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at The Wilson Hotel.
In the 5:30 to 7 p.m. meeting, leaders will discuss the study’s findings so far, review insights from the recently released scenario development toolkit, discuss current fiscal conditions and findings, and introduce the next phase of the study: a community survey.
“Last week, over 60 community members participated in scenario development workshops at the Big Sky Medical Center, exploring topics ranging from boundary changes to community values,” Meg O’Leary, who leads community outreach for the study, stated in a Jan. 23 press release. “By combining these valuable insights with the existing conditions analysis and with feedback from the community survey coming out at the meeting, we aim to equip Big Sky with the facts and resources needed to make decisions about governance and ensure a thriving future for our community.”
In November, the study team held multiple “Tuesday Series” meetings to learn more about the community’s priorities and concerns.
Next Tuesday’s meeting will be a “key” public meeting to discuss findings, explore governance models, and continue community dialogue, according to the release.
The meeting agenda includes opportunities for questions throughout, and will begin with current findings, then an exploration of Big Sky’s governance options “based on engagement, practical considerations and research.” Finally, the study team will introduce and explain the survey.
“Don’t miss this opportunity to have your voice heard and engage in meaningful conversations about the future of our community,” the release stated.
