A 25-year-old man fell approximately 30 feet on Gallatin Tower yesterday evening, and members of the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Big Sky Fire Department and Gallatin County Search and Rescue responded to the scene after the 911 dispatcher received a call at 7:30 p.m. Gallatin Tower is just above mile marker 62, on the west side of Gallatin Road.

Members of the Big Sky Fire Department hiked to the patient and stabilized him until members of the Gallatin County Search and Rescue arrived. The patient, of Groton, NY, reportedly sustained a minor laceration on his head and possible fractures on his lower legs. He was immobilized, carried by litter to a Big Sky Fire ambulance, and then transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
