Hundreds of bluegrass lovers packed the buildings at Big Sy Resort President’s weekend to listen to banjo pickin’ musicians of the first annual Big Sky Big Grass festival. Highlights of the weekend were Grammy Award winner Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, and on Saturday night the Emmitt-Nershi Band rocked out in Whiskey Jack’s until the wee hours of the morning. The festival also displayed the talents of local musicians.
“Big Sky Big Grass was a huge success. An event like this cannot happen without the support of the entire resort and community,” sad Chad Jones of Big Sky Resort. Jones says the resort is already working on another weekend line-up of musicians for next year. “We to up the ante with more Grammy Nominees and at the same time be able to offer more seats to people that want to enjoy the music.”
