On Saturday, April 19, the Arts Council of Big Sky will announce this year’s Music in the Mountains concert lineup at The Waypoint. The free event begins at 7 p.m. with the lineup reveal beginning at 8 p.m.
This year marks the 16th summer of the free concert series that has hosted well-known artists like Turnpike Troubadours, Lukas Nelson, the Wood Brothers, Lake Street Dive, and more. The series is known for showcasing up-and-coming artists as well as seasoned veterans touring nationally.
“We’re excited to share this summer’s lineup with the Big Sky community,” Arts Council Executive Director Brian Hurlbut stated in a press release. “I think we have a great summer of music to look forward to.”
After the lineup reveal, Bozeman based trio Honeyhollar will perform. The group leans into folk and country influences, bringing modern covers to the mix as well. There will also be a raffle for some “great swag,” including two season-long backstage passes for all the concerts.
Music in the Mountains begins on June 26 this year and will conclude on Sept. 4 with the third annual Metal in the Mountains concert. The series will also bring back the Emerging Artist program to provide opening bands for all shows, as well as the popular concert on July 4.
The concerts have been voted Big Sky’s Best Annual Event and Best Family Friendly Activity by readers of Explore Big Sky.
