The Arts Council of Big Sky will continue a longstanding tradition with its 27th annual Madrigal Dinner on Thursday, Dec. 5. The event is organized in partnership with the Montana State University School of Music, and includes live music performances throughout the Olde-English-themed dinner.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the Big Sky Resort’s Missouri Ballroom, and tickets must be purchased in advance for $100 apiece. Admittance includes a “fantastic” three-course dinner prepared by Big Sky Resort chefs, according to a press release from the arts council. The release also stated that the Madrigal Dinner is a community highlight, considered by many as the traditional opening of the holiday season.
“The Madrigal Dinner has become a Big Sky holiday tradition since we started it more than 25 years ago,” stated Arts Council Executive Director Brian Hurlbut. “We’re excited to again partner with the resort to bring this festive event to the community.”
The event begins with a no-host bar at 5 p.m., and guests will be seated for dinner at 6 o’clock sharp, “in preparation for the Ceremonial Procession of the Lord and Lady of the Manor and their guests,” the release stated. Various Olde English fanfares, and serenades from MSU singers will entertain guests.
This year will mark the 60th annual Madrigal Dinner for the MSU School of Music, and the 27th year in Big Sky.
