Gallatin Valley Earth Day, a nonprofit based in Bozeman, has once again put together an eclectic lineup of events for all ages and interests.

Earth Day is traditionally celebrated on April 22 each year and marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. To this day, communities across the U.S. use Earth Day as a way to celebrate and educate each other about environmentalism.

Here are a few events Gallatin Valley residents can look forward to this weekend. See a full lineup of events here

On Friday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m., “Wildfire: A Century of Failed Forest Policy” with George Wuerthner will be screened at Museum of the Rockies.

On Saturday, April 20 at 9 a.m., the Big Sky Wind Drinkers are hosting a 5K starting and finishing at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Registration fees will benefit the Gallatin Watershed Council.

Also on Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the exhibit buildings at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds will feature live music, arts and crafts for children, and a series of exhibits and activities that promote Earth-friendly practices.
