Happy mud season!
Construction began on the community park this week after a very wet spring. While we are very thankful for those epic powder days at the end of the season, the runoff and rain have delayed our start on the projects this spring.
Just like any type of landscaping work, heavy machinery does more damage than good when the ground is wet. We are still hopeful that the remainder of the excavation, which is the most weather dependent, will go quickly, but want to communicate that a complete July 4 re-opening is highly unlikely. The playground, newly expanded trail, and disc golf course are open, but the fields will not be ready until mid-summer.
The BSCC also acquired the Meadow Village tennis courts last fall through a donation by Meadow View One. The courts will be resurfaced this summer. As with the rest of the park, the resurfacing is weather dependent, so the tennis courts will also be unavailable until further notice. The Ophir courts, however, are currently open and available for public use.
