BIG SKY – Lone Peak High School’s fifth graduating class will hold its commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 7 at 1 p.m. in the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center. The event is open to all community members and friends and family are encouraged to attend. Three students – Michelle Burger, Chase Izzo and Anna Middleton – will graduate.
Meg O’Leary, Montana’s Director of Commerce, will deliver the commencement speech. Valedictorian Anna Middleton will also speak, as will Michelle Burger who will deliver a speech as the class representative. The school band will play, and the three students will receive their diplomas from Supt. Jerry House and school board vice-chair Laura Michel.
Middleton has attended school in the Big Sky School District since kindergarten; Izzo started at Lone Peak High as a freshman, and Burger came to LPHS as a junior.
Both Burger and Izzo plan to take a gap year before commencing university studies. Middleton will begin classes at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., where she was selected as a Claire Sherwood Scholar, one of the private college’s most prestigious scholarship programs.
